Peeing on your bed feels personal. It almost never is. A cat that has stopped using the box is usually saying the room no longer feels like theirs, and that is a different problem with a different answer.
First, rule out the medical cause
A sudden change in litter box habits is one of the most common early signs of a urinary tract infection, crystals or a blockage. Stress is the answer only once a vet has ruled those out.
Call your vet today if your cat is straining, going often with very little coming out, crying in the box, licking constantly at themselves, or if you see any blood. A male cat who cannot pass urine is an emergency, not a wait-and-see.

What marking actually is
When a cat rubs its cheek along a doorway it is leaving a signal behind, one that says this place is known and it is mine. Cats read a room by that signal. It is how a home stays predictable to them.
When something disrupts it, a move, a new baby, building work, a new cat, or a neighbourhood cat sitting outside the window at night, the signal stops being enough. Some cats then escalate to the strongest marker they have, which is urine.
Which is why it lands on your bed and your clothes. Those carry your scent more strongly than anything else in the house, so that is the spot they are trying hardest to make safe. It reads as the most personal thing they could possibly do. It is the opposite.
The bed is not the target. It is the safest-smelling place they have.

Nine times in ten there is a before and an after, and it is worth finding. A house move, a new baby, someone moving in or out, building work, a new pet, or a neighbourhood cat that started appearing at the window.
It is rarely the thing you would guess, and the cat is not reacting to the event so much as to the fact that the room stopped being predictable.

I have more than one cat. Does that change anything?
It is the most common situation people write to us about, and usually the trouble is a hallway rather than a cat. One diffuser only ever calms the room it is plugged into, so a 700 to 1,700 sq ft home is two units rather than one. We will help you work out the number before you order.
Is it safe around my dog, or around children?

How quickly would I know?
Give the room 24 to 48 hours to reach a steady level, then judge it over the first 7 to 14 days. Behaviour that took weeks to set in does not unwind in an evening.
Does this replace a vet visit?
